What Is History And Why Do We Study It?

I think that history is made up from events in the past {it may not mean that it is long in the past but its still considered history} which may help you with the near future. History can focus on the ideas of people, also there successes or failures, which like i said before can help us now in the modern day, because we know what to do and, what not to do. Also a lot of people in the past helped us make a brighter future. Like Nikola Tesla, well he literally helped us brighten the world because he invented lightbulbs, but i think you get what i'm trying to say. We study history to have global awareness, because you can offend a person, not meaning to, for example you say a joke but in his culture or belief thats offensive. By this way you can also start war, not knowing why it started in the first place, thats why we need global awareness, and have to study history.
